Having previously hiked the entire 17.2km Eastern Pines backpacking trail in a single day the last time we were in the Achray area, we decided to slow down and spend a few days on foot in the backcountry. The trail is well marked and fairly easy going with only a single challenging hill climb. The Eastern Pines trail rewards travelers with some stunning feature attractions such as the glacial boulder gardens and the popular high falls (picture below). Add these features to the Baron Canyon which you can visit on the way in or out and you've got one amazing long weekend on your hands. Here's what we thought of it.
